Who doesn't love cake? The rich and creamy cheesecake, the fluffy and light chiffon cake, and the fudgy and gooey chocolate cake ( I just mean brownie!), cake delights your mood and sweeps your blues. Overwhelmed by the countless options in London, I am still a big fan of Japanese patisserie as I am deeply attracted by the delicate texture, the not-too-sweet taste, not to mention the sophisticated while creative combination of flavors and ingredients.


If you have the fine taste for cakes, then you should not miss out Kova Patisserie which carefully sits in the hustling Soho area of London (They also opened a new branch in Chinatown). What I mean by "carefully" is the store is quite small as it took me a while to find it when using Google Maps. You will not be surprised that the store is always jam-packed by foodie customers, definitely including me, who passionately and patiently line up in a long queue to satisfy their sweet tooth (Don't forget to say "Hi" if you spot me!).

This Sea Salt Lava Cheese Cake is one of their signature cakes (Their Matcha Crepes are highly recommended as well!), featuring light and fluffy chiffon cakes combined with silky and creamy cheese lava. LOOK at how appetizing it is, the "lava" definitely titillates your appetite and the dried raspberries are like the the rubies sparkling on the top of the cake.



The sitting area is always unavailable, so take-away can be a good idea.

The cake itself is light and soft, and it is so spongy and delicate that can smoothly melt into your mouth without chewing. Definitely, this makes a beautiful contrast with the slightly salted cheese "lava". The added sea salt intrinsically stimulated your secretion of saliva as well as slightly reducing the richness of the "lava", preventing it from being overwhelming to your taste buds.




It is the elegant balance of flavors that massively impresses me. A cuppa, a fork, and a cake, how gorgeous my dessert time is !
